Latest planning applications refused by Richmond Council

The latest planning Application (06/3890/FUL) to demolish and replace HEW is refused by the Planning Department of Richmond council on several grounds, including the fact that the proposed buildings would have been out of scale and “an obtrusive form of development detrimental to the visual amenities of the Conservation Area”. Also, insufficient evidence was presented to justify the demolition of these buildings of townscape merit.

Twickenham Online website closed due to lack of funding

Online Communities very much regret that because of absence of funding our community network has now closed. It has operated for the benefit of the community in Richmond upon Thames, unfunded and without break since 1997.

This is very sad news not only for our campaign but all campaigns in the Borough who were able to spread the word throughout the community. The HEW campaign will always be grateful to John and Jill of Online Communities for their advice and support.
